2021 MRF MMSC FMSCI Indian National Motor Racing Championship Round Two Preview
Highlights of the first round were teenagers Shahan Ali Mohsin from Agra and Ruhaan Alva from Bengaluru. Shahan won two of the three races in the MRF F1600 category while Ruhaan (MSport) was named “best rookie” in the Formula LGB 1300 category.
The very competitive sedan category will also offer us some exciting races. The first class of Indian Touring Cars will be one to watch as reigning Race Concepts champion Arjun Balu will once again face off against Rayo Racing pair of Anindith Reddy and Jeet Jhabakh.
Speaking of sedans, the entry-level category of MRF sedans with the Toyota Etios is back on the calendar. The promoted Madras Motor Sports Club category made its first appearance last season and is now returning after missing the first round this year. Last year he had only six entered, but this year he boasts a field of 25 cars, represented by two teams (Red Line Racing India and Quest Motorsports). The series will feature nine races spread over three rounds.
Weather forecasts show that there will be a good chance of rain over the weekend, but the MMRT circuit has weathered the recent record monsoon rains well and appeared to be in good shape to host the event. The second round of INRC 2021 will take place at MMRT in Chennai from December 10-14. For more news from the Indian motorsport world, stay tuned to evo India!
