And if you are planning a trip to Kerala, then go for a road trip. Here are some places that will make you fall in love with the state.

1. Thekkady to Munnar
   Thekkady to Munnar road trip takes you through amazing scenic views with sandalwood trees through tea plantation to hilltop lakes. The ideal time to go on a road trip is from December to January. If you are lucky, you may spot wild animals like elephants on the roads.
2. Kochi to Alappuzha
   If you are in Kochi enjoying the cultural events and having a seafood beach, then why not take a road trip to Alappuzha to enjoy the backwater boat ride. The shortest road trip of 1h30 is a good option. Alappuzha is one of the most well-known destinations in the state of Kerala.
3. Alappuzha to Athirapally
   From the backwater of Alappuzha to the most scenic hill station of Athirapally, it takes about 3 hours to reach. The road trip covers the landscape of villages, green fields, groves of coconut trees and food on the highway. The Athirapally waterfall is a particular tourist site.
4. From Kannur to Kasargod
   Both cities have equal importance to the state’s history and are packed with attractions. Drive parallel to the coast and pass the agricultural field of banana trees, coconut trees and beaches.
5. Kochi to Kottayam
   About 70 kilometers from Kochi, the road to Kottayam is often referred to as heaven on earth. Kottayam, the literary capital of Kerala, is home to vast expanses of paddy fields and rubber plantations.
