America’s Most Beautiful Tour of Tahoe Bike Ride Postponed to 2022 Due to Caldor Fire | South Lake Tahoe

Bike the West had to postpone its America’s Most Beautiful Tour of Tahoe which was scheduled for Sunday, September 12, 2021. Organizers had to make a difficult decision due to poor air quality from the Caldor Fire in southwest of Lake Tahoe.
Air quality has always been in the unhealthy range – very unhealthy. Although the trip takes two weeks, there is no guarantee that the air quality will improve as conditions change from day to day and hour to hour. Reservations for people staying at Hard Rock Lake Tahoe must be canceled by Monday, August 30 without penalty (contact them at 775.589.7601 or 844-588-7625)
The US50 to Lake Tahoe is also a concern. This is currently for evacuation orders, and all amusement ride rest areas on state park public lands are currently closed. Local agencies are encouraging customers to postpone visits until further notice.
America’s Most Beautiful Bike Ride and Tour of Tahoe had combined this year after they were both canceled due to COVID last year, so two years in a row the popular race was canceled.
All participants, including all those carried over from 2020, will be transferred to ride America’s most beautiful bike ride on Sunday, June 5, 2022. Unfortunately, the organizers cannot refund as they have already invested heavily in production. of the event.
Bike the West will be posting updated posts on its website and Facebook page, so please continue to check for the latest information. They will email all participants after January 1, 2022, to confirm their participation in our June 5, 2022 hike.
