The partnership is with Avaada MHKhamgaon to purchase 99 million units per year of renewable energy under a captive structure.
According to the company’s press release, the partnership along with all existing sustainability initiatives would lead to an annual reduction of 4,56,500 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions by 2025, which is equivalent to reducing emissions. by removing 90,000 passenger vehicles from Indian roads in one year.
He added that this commitment to renewable energy is one of the most important in the country by a data center operator.
“In the future, a significant portion of all additional energy for all of our new and existing facilities will come from carbon-free sources. We are also working closely with regulators, government agencies and power generation companies to explore a suitable environment, ”said Sumit Mukhija, CEO of STT GDC India.
The company added that 34% of the electricity for all its facilities comes from renewable sources, making it one of the largest users of renewable sources among data center operators in India.
STT GDC India is a majority owned subsidiary of ST Telemedia Global Data Centers, Singapore.
