BBC Antiques Road Trip: Rachel Riley’s Short First Marriage Before Meeting Husband Pasha Kovalev
Countdown star Rachel Riley made headlines again this week after the birth of her second child with Strictly Come Dancing’s Pasha Kovalev.
This was great news for fans of the couple who have seen their on-screen chemistry turn into a full-fledged romance and a few babies since.
Before Riley met Russian hunk Kovalev, she was married to her childhood sweetheart, Jamie Gilbert.

The couple met at Oxford University and were together until 2009, when their relationship briefly hit the rocks.
She broke up with millionaire Gilbert after four years together before successfully rekindling the romance, marrying in August 2012 according to The sun .
Riley briefly settled with businessman Gilbert in Southend, Essex for 16 months until a familiar curse struck their marriage.
Riley entered the BBC Strictly dance competition in 2013 and teamed up with Kovalev, which was then launched in week five.
However, that wouldn’t be the end of his time with Kovalev.
A month after the show ended, she dumped her husband Gilbert, later confirming her new relationship with Kovalev in 2014.
This was another case of the Strictly curse.
At the time, Riley insisted that her dance partner wasn’t the reason for the split.
She told The Sun, “I’m still friends with my ex-husband. He’s awesome, he’s a brilliant guy.
“We had been together since I was 19 and it wasn’t right.”
Riley and Kovalev tied the knot in a ceremony in Las Vegas, before introducing their first daughter Maven to the world later that year.
