Eastern Kentucky Volleyball takes an ASUN road trip this weekend

EKU and Central Arkansas will meet for the first time. The Colonels have a 9-0 advantage over Lipscomb.

CONWAY, Arche. –

EKU will play a pair of ASUN Conference road matches in Central Arkansas and Lipscomb this weekend.

The Colonels face Central Arkansas on Friday at 7:30 p.m. ET. The game against Lipscomb is scheduled for Sunday at 3 p.m. ET. Sunday’s game will be broadcast live on ESPN +.

INSIDE THE SERIES

– EKU and Central Arkansas will meet for the first time.

– The Colonels have a 9-0 advantage over Lipscomb. The two teams played nine times between 2000 and 2005, but have not faced each other since.

THE COLONELS

– Eastern Kentucky (5-14, 2-3 ASUN) lost at home to No. 20 Western Kentucky, 3-0, Wednesday. In their last ASUN game, the Colonels beat North Alabama, 3-1.

– Sarah mitchell led the team with 12 kills against the top 25 Hilltoppers.

– In five ASUN matches, Reilly lowe has a better team of 18 blocks, averaging 1.13 per set.

– Molly michalak leads ASUN with 227 kills this season.

– Sydney schön is fifth in ASUN with 4.05 digs per set and second with a total of 296 digs.

SEARCH FOR THE OPPONENT

– Central Arkansas is 3-10 this season and 1-3 in the ASUN game. The Sugar Bears beat Kennesaw State, 3-0, before losing their next two league games to Stetson (3-0) and Lipscomb (3-0).

– Lexi Miller leads the team with 2.78 kills per set. Anna Myers contributes to a team record of 5.58 assists per set.

– Lipscomb is 6-8 overall, but 3-1 against ASUN teams. The Bisons have won three straight wins against Jacksonville (3-1), Liberty (3-2) and Central Arkansas (3-0). Lipscomb plays Bellarmine on Friday.

– Kamryn Bacus is averaging a team-high 3.35 kills per set. Meg Mersman leads the team with 0.85 blocks per set. Delaney Smith contributes 3.46 digs per set.
