Georgia super fan ready for national championship road trip

Ladies and Gentlemen, meet Fred Thomas, a bleeding “DGD” in red and black.
MACON, Georgia – There are super fans, and then there are Super Georgia Fans.
Ladies and Gentlemen, meet Fred Thomas, a bleeding “DGD” in red and black.
“We can be down with 2 minutes left, all we need is 2 scores – we can figure that out. Rah, rah, rah, and let’s go,” said Fred Thomas, speaking of his faith in the Georgia Bulldogs.
Fred and his wife Christina enjoyed the Bulldogs football season this year as super fans. Well, sort of, sort of.
“I don’t get naked in 20 degree weather and I don’t put a ‘G’ on my chest, but I sat in a lot of rain and screamed with the best of them,” a- he declared.
They’ve both been fans for over 40 years, so much so that Christina decorates a Georgia Christmas tree every year – one of her 8 life-size trees on display in her home – and they’re even almost 13 years old. A one year old English Bulldog named Joanie who is part of the Uga IV line. All of these things show their love for the Red and Black and remind them to never take the Dawgs for granted.
Fred said: “When we look back at 2007 – I thought we sure had a chance there and I still think we were the best team in the country back then – and in 2012, and definitely 2017. , some of these young people don’t understand that this is a chance of a lifetime for someone not called Alabama. “
Fred doesn’t just talk, he really believes in these Hairy Dawgs and their elite defense, as the saying goes, “He put his money where he talks.”
“We were sure we were going to buy our tickets in October,” said Fred.
He bought nine tickets to include their kids and spouses, to travel to Indy for three days to cheer on the Dawgs to victory and hopefully end the streak against the Crimson Tide.
“I think we’re going to win. I think we’re really going to win, because now Bama has the pressure on them to win twice in a year, and that usually doesn’t happen, and on top of that the pressure is on themselves. if we’re two and a half favorites, because everyone expects them to win back-to-back championships.
Whatever the outcome, the Thomases plan to make more memories on behalf of Georgia and cherish the time they share together by nurturing the old faith with two words, “Go Dawgs.”
Fred says, “It was a wonderful ride, for sure.”
Thomas also owns a fireworks business named Big Dawg Fireworks, named after his beloved Bulldogs.
