Honda de Monteiro’s 10th season kicks off at WTCR Race of Germany
Tiago Monteiro’s 10th season as a Honda-powered touring car driver takes place at the WTCR Race of Germany.
Ahead of the opening of the WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup season, Monteiro said: “I am very happy to be part of the ALL-INKL.DE Münnich Motorsport team again and proud that my association with Honda is entering a 10th season. I hope to start the season on the right foot and continue this momentum. We know the competition will be tough and we won’t know the real order until we start at the Nürburgring, maybe even later than that, but we are confident in the package we have and I’m hungry for the coming season. . “
Monteiro’s teammate Attila Tassi, who is preparing for his third season as a Honda Racing WTCR rider, added: “We can start to know that myself and the Honda Civic Type R TCR have had a great time here at the over the past two years. I was happy with my progress in WTCR in 2020, finishing twice in the top three, so naturally this season my goals are higher – the next step is to win a race. “
Monteiro and Tassi both showed encouraging form in today’s practice sessions, with Tassi being the fourth fastest in Free Practice 1 and Monteiro matching the performance of the Hungarian driver in Free Practice 2.
