Renowned sports doctor reiterates Joe Burrow will be ready for week 1 after seeing workout video
The Cincinnati Bengals still plan to have Joe Burrow available for the start of the 2021-22 season as he continues to recover from last season’s injury.
On Tuesday, a video emerged of Burrow deploying and launching while running during the Bengals OTAs.
Despite having left knee reconstruction surgery in December, Dr David J. Chao took to Twitter to express his optimism that Burrow will be ready to go when Week 1 rolls around.
“Burrow’s left knee is progressing well in this video,” Chao tweeted in response to our Burrow clips. “Not 100% and has a slight hitch, but still plans to be ready for Week 1 of the Bengals, as I’ve always expressed despite the ACL / MCL and kneecap issue.”

This is only great news for Burrow and the Bengals, as Burrow has looked impressive so far in preseason practices.
The Bengals are set to start the 2021-22 season on Sunday, September 12e against the Minnesota Vikings.
