Ride Luka Dončić, Kawhi Leonard entering Game 7 Showdown
Sunday provides the two best words in the sport: Game 7. The Los Angeles Clippers and Dallas Mavericks are playing for their lives in the playoffs, while Atlanta and Philadelphia begin their second series. The two-game slate hangs at 1 p.m. ET. Let’s see what’s in the cards.
Ben simmons is the highest rated player today according to the NBA model of FantasyLabs. It has the best overall rating in part because of the expected workload with Joel Embiid questionable with a torn right meniscus. Simmons is also the cheapest point guard between him, Luka Dončić, and Young Traé. Look for Simmons to put his own in defense as well; he had six interceptions and four blocks in Philly’s five-game series against Washington.
Reggie Jackson topped projections in five straight games, exceeding 20 percent usage, double-digit shot attempts and 28 minutes played in each game. It has a bit more value on FanDuel due to the limited eligibility and cost of players. Jackson costs $ 5,400 on FanDuel and DraftKings.
Dončić runs all playmakers in Pro Trends and the projected ownership on both platforms. He is also the only leader with a usage projection of over 30% and a projection of over 40 minutes. He is the most expensive player and still ranks in the top two leaders.
Trae Young has the toughest match on FanDuel using Opponent Plus / Minus. He also projected the lowest plus / minus, projecting fantastic points and points per pay among the top trio. As the sandwich-priced player of the three, this leads him to have the lowest projected ownership on DraftKings despite the Hawks-76ers having the highest projected play total of 10.5 points.
Tyrese Maxey is in line to play more if the 76ers get smaller than normal without Embiid. He’s played over 20 minutes in the last two games and has surpassed the fantastic 20 points in both games. It is lining up to be popular as a salary saving option.
Watch for the latest injury news and notes as you build rosters with the NBA Insiders Labs tool.
Paul Georges has been a treat watching this series and is the best shooting guard at both sites. He dominates in projections and only Bogdan Bogdanovic on DraftKings is thrown within 20 fantastic points of George on the shooting guard.
Seth Curry 30 burgers in Game 5 against Washington will get a lot of attention. His 17 field goal attempts were Curry’s most significant dating back to early May. Curry has averaged nearly six three-point attempts per game against Washington and will be asked to do the same if Embiid is out.
Tim Hardaway Jr. has 48 points on 38 field goal attempts in his last two games. He’s only shooting 33% in three of the last two games and has sacrificed collecting other stats for points. His cap is limited if he keeps shooting first and asking questions later.
Tyrese Maxey is an eligible sniper at both sites.
Bogdanovic is one of the top three options as a shooting guard, as well as one of the top two short-fronters on FanDuel. He costs less than $ 7,000 on both platforms and is just one of three shooting guards on DraftKings with a projected points-per-salary of five or more.
Kawhi Leonard did not come out of the playoffs without a fight. He has scored over 40 points in two games in this series and has the best projected over / under at the position on FanDuel. It also has a 95% rating on DraftKings.
Danny Green and Nicolas batum are sold for less than $ 200 of each other on both sites and have almost identical projections. Batum’s minutes have been more consistent and higher, but Green’s offensive role increases without Embiid, and his defense keeps him down.
Marcus Morris projects ahead of Batum and Green and is $ 100 more, but has only exceeded 20 fantastic points three times this series on DraftKings and twice on FanDuel. He is an eligible attacker on FanDuel.
I appreciate Dorian Finney Smith as a neglected little striker because his price is higher than Green, Batum and Morris. DFS has scored at least 28.4 FanDuel points in the last two games and is arguably Dallas’ best defensive player.
If Embiid is out, Tobias Harris will be in 100% of my queues. He is the highest rated striker on both platforms and has little eligibility on DraftKings. Harris is the only forward with a fantastic 30-point projection.
Danilo Gallinari is listed up front on DraftKings and just behind Batum and Morris in the projections and costs $ 700 less.
John collins and Kristaps Porzingis have exceeded projections once each during the playoffs. Even though Embiid is absent, Collins gets no reprieve against Tobias Harris and with Dwight Howard keeping the rim. Collins has the best leverage score on FanDuel, while Porzingis is tied with Harris on DraftKings for the best leverage score up front.
Clint Capela chalk maybe, but Dwight Howard is the highest rated center on FanDuel and DraftKings. Howard’s role is on lock even though Embiid is playing as it’s unclear how effective Embiid will be.
Boban Marjanovic has over 18 FanDuel points in three straight games, but hasn’t gone over 20 minutes played in any of those contests. Expect larger ownership as well.
Teammate Dwight Powell has more boom / bust potential than Boban and is $ 200 cheaper on FanDuel and $ 700 cheaper on DraftKings.
Capela is tied for most pro trending counts on DraftKings and is alone at the top on FanDuel. He had three double-doubles against the Knicks, but passed throws once. If he could keep scoring and bouncing in the middle of his teens with multiple blocks, then he has value as a more expensive center. Capela managed several blocks in four of the five games in the last series.
