Road-Trip Romance is on the Route to Mount Rainier | State News

TACOMA, Wash., 25 August 2021 / PRNewswire / – Travel Tacoma – Mt. Rainier Tourism and Sports today released its latest preset itinerary: a romantic three-day road trip from the shore of the Salish Sea to the Alpine Gardens of Mount Rainier called Road Trip to Paradise.
The Road Trip to Paradise itinerary responds to the growing demand for step-by-step itineraries that offer visitors the best attractions chosen by experts – and in this case, the most romantic – to discover in Pierce County. With these recommendations, visitors can choose their dates, make reservations, then jump in their car and drive away. The route is named after the end point of the road trip, the Paradise Recreation Area in Mount Rainier National Park, what a mountaineer and naturalist John muir called “the most lush and extravagant of all alpine gardens I have ever seen”.
âPeople know this area for its museums, its waterfront and the iconic Mount Rainier, but what they sometimes forget is that it can all be combined into a romantic weekend,â said Matt wakefield, Director of Marketing and Communications for Travel Tacoma – Mt. Rainier Tourism and Sports. “There aren’t many places on earth where you can walk along a beach, take a sunset horseback ride, and hike alpine trails through wildflowers all in one long week. -end. “
The route begins with a beach walk in the small town of DuPont before a waterfront walk to Steilacoom takes visitors to lunch overlooking the Salish Sea.
From there, lovebirds can choose between Tacoma’s Big Five Museums for a date: some prefer to watch artists fashion molten glass into masterpieces at the Museum of Glass or see the striking exhibits in the galleries of the Tacoma Art Museum. Others prefer the region’s whimsical story unfolding before them at the Washington State History Museum and Foss Waterway Seaport, or experience America’s love affair with the automobile as they stroll through the America’s Car Museum.
The evening takes romance to the next level, starting with a sunset horseback ride before reveling in the warm comforts of the only “cannibal hot tub” in United States. The night ends with a romantic stay in a luxury cabin at the foot of Mount Rainier, followed by a full day of hiking in Mount Rainier National Park.
