Road trip survey to find favorite songs, snacks and complaints
HOUSTON (KIAH) In the height of summer, gas is increasingly in demand. A gas company recently commissioned a study to find out what a “typical” road trip looks like.
After interviewing 2,000 people, the standard road trip takes about four hours and about 150 miles. Four people is the typical number that plays two travel games. Four is the number of cries to ask “Are we still here?” “
The survey found that families argue on average twice over things like: Windows – open or closed. Who will sit where and who has gobbled up the snacks.
Take 6 snacks per person, as this is the number of snacks consumed on average. The most popular snacks are sandwiches, chips, and candy.
Fighting on the radio was surprisingly NOT on the list, even though 41% like to listen… about 40 songs.
Favorite tracks include “Dancing Queen” through ABBA. Another is “Live on a prayer” through Bon Jovi. Happy” through Pharrell. Recently, “Mr. The Good Side” through The killers.
As for stopping too often, pit stops last around 17 minutes for eight road trips per year.
