Road Trip to Restaurant: Dairy Dream

HUNDRED, W.Va. – On this week’s restaurant road trip, we visit a family-owned ice cream shop in Wetzel County.
Dairy Dream offers ice cream, burgers, chicken wings, many other food items and a cozy little town atmosphere in the town of Hundred.
âIt’s local, it’s great. I love their ice cream. You get all kinds of. You get shrimp, you can get burgers. We love burgers. Onion rings. It’s just awesome. We love it, âsaid frequent customer Christine Harper.
Their most popular sandwich is the âtomboy,â which consists of two burgers, lettuce, onions and a secret sauce.
âThis is the original sandwich that was created when the restaurant opened in the 1950s,â revealed Leanna Barnette, owner of Dairy Dream.
The family-run restaurant was purchased by the Barnett’s in 2016 after being closed for a year.

âWe’ve always wanted a restaurant,â Barnett said. “And we were driving in June 2016, and there was a sign for sale.”
Since reopening the well-known location, they have added new items to the menu like the âHornet Revenge and theâ Steak, Chicken, Bacon, Fondant Sandwich. âBarnett explained that theâ Hornet Revenge âburger was named by his daughter because they wanted to incorporate something from the city into their restaurant.
Dairy Dream also has two nominations for “Best Wetzel County Burger” over the past two years, and last year it won the “Wetzel County Best Wings” title.
You can find Dairy Dream at 1005 Main Street in Hundred. They are open every day from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
