AUBURN, Alabama –The ULM softball team (12-4) continues its Mardi Gras week road trip with two more games in Alabama. The Warhawks play Alabama State in Montgomery, Alabama on Tuesday, March 1 at 2:00 p.m. and then face Jacksonville State on Wednesday, March 2 at 2 p.m. in Jacksonville, Alabama. Wednesday’s game against the Gamecocks will be available on ESPN+.

“When we signed on to play at Auburn, I wanted to make this week fun and take our team on a six-day road trip and face other opponents in Alabama,” the ULM head coach said. Molly Fishtner. “Alabama State and Jacksonville State are not very far from Auburn, so it worked out, and we have the opportunity to play some schools on the way back.”

Updated national stats reveal the Warhawks’ standings this year continue to show a marked improvement over years past. ULM records 6.31 carries per game, which ranks them 30th in the nation with a batting average of .314, ranked 40th. A .408 on-base percentage puts the Warhawks in the top 30 in the nation. The 1.99 ERA, lowered by weekend results, is 36th.

Individually, the Warhawks are also making their mark on the national charts. Bacon from Lourdes 21 hits put her in 31st place. Korie Kreps moved to 25th with two triples earlier this month. In the circle, Gianni Hulet leads the Sun Belt with its two saves so far this season and is fifth in the nation. With an average shots allowed per game of just 2.71, Kasidy Giddens ranks 10 in the nation.

Alabama State (7-8) closed out the HBCU Celebration Tournament on Sunday night with a 9-1 win over Alabama A&M. The Hornets have won three straight games with two of their four shutouts early in their winning streak. Kindall DeRamus has 23 hits, the ninth-most in the nation, and is tied for the RBI team lead with Kiana Parrish. DeRamus has the Hornets’ leading average at .451, most runs scored with 13 and is ranked eighth nationally with 13 stolen bases. Bailey Greenlee recorded 48 strikeouts for first place in the Southwestern Athletic Conference, good for 43rd place nationally. His 10 appearances this season culminated in a 4-5 record that includes four complete games and three shutouts.

Wednesday’s game at Jacksonville State (6-6) will be the third time the Warhawks and Gamecocks have met this season after sharing a pair of games at the Golden Eagle Invitational on Saturday, February 19. The Gamecocks lead the Ohio Valley Conference in six stat categories with a .368 on-base percentage. Brantly Bonds has six of the team’s 16 doubles for an individual national ranking of 20and and ranks 29th in the national rankings with his average of 1.25 RBI per game. In the Jacksonville State circle, Lexi Androlevich has the best overall record at 3-2 and Sarah Currie and Kat Carter have each made six appearances.
