Winnetonka Marching Band helps celebrate a woman’s 100th birthday

How to celebrate its 100 years? With a fanfare of course! Kansas City-area resident Margie Realph turned 100 today. Ten years ago, her daughters promised her a marching band when she reached Cape Town. The Winnetonka Pride Marching Band stepped in to make Realph’s birthday wish come true! The students added to the fun with placards and balloons. Her daughter Chris Baudoin contacted Winnetonka because one of her daughters and several grandchildren was attending school. The group performed several songs, including happy birthday. “She loves music, always brought her comfort and joy. The marching band seemed festive and fun and something she would really love, âBaudoin said. It took a month of planning to pull off the celebration. Fortunately, it went off without a hitch.
